Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca, LLP (CGL) today announced that Joseph Van Wye has joined its Public Policy Practice as Senior Advisor, Public Policy & Legislative Affairs, marking another step in the continued growth of the firm’s practice.
Over the past year, CGL has bolstered its Public Policy group through the addition of experts with deep congressional, enforcement, regulatory, and advocacy experience. Van Wye’s arrival further positions the firm to deliver strategic counsel across a range of issues—from consumer and environmental protection to competition issues involving agriculture, technology, healthcare, and media markets.
“Joe brings the strategic expertise we need as we continue to grow our policy team,” said Pamela Gilbert, Partner at Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca. “Our clients face complex challenges that span law, regulation, and public affairs, and Joe’s experience ensures we can provide fully integrated, seamless guidance across all of these areas.”
Van Wye joins CGL following distinguished roles in legislative strategy and policy advocacy. He most recently served as Senior Legislative Strategist at P Street, a leading progressive advocacy organization, and served as Policy and Outreach Director for the House Judiciary Committee, where he worked on antitrust, oversight, commercial, and regulatory matters. Throughout his career, Van Wye has focused on coalition building, federal rulemaking, legislative drafting, and congressional stakeholder engagement.
“I was drawn to CGL because of its unique ability to connect policy strategy with litigation and advocacy,” said Joe Van Wye. “The firm’s commitment to advancing fairness and accountability through both legal and policy channels is exactly the kind of work I’ve dedicated my career to. Joining this team is an opportunity to help shape solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing consumers and markets today.”
Joe Van Wye joins Pamela Gilbert, Slade Bond, Amanda Lewis, and Sarah Rooney on CGL’s Public Policy team, deepening the firm’s expertise in antitrust, competition policy, and high-stakes regulatory matters. The expanded team strengthens CGL’s ability to integrate policy strategy with litigation and advocacy, providing the firm’s clients with a comprehensive, one-stop solution for complex challenges at the intersection of law and public affairs.
“I fought alongside Joe for years on the House Antitrust Subcommittee, and I am thrilled he’s joining our firm,” said Slade Bond, Chair of the Public Policy Practice, who joined CGL last year after serving as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs at the Justice Department and Chief Counsel of the Antitrust Subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives. “Joe has been entrusted with high-stakes legislative and policy matters throughout his career, and his deep experience in strategy and coalition advocacy makes him an ideal addition to our team.”
