Zachary Freed joined Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca following a Summer Law Clerkship with the firm.
Mr. Freed graduated from the George Washington University Law School with Honors. While at GW Law, he interned for the Federal Trade Commission and organized two on-campus events: A Fireside Chat with Lina Khan and Bill Kovacicand Champions for Consumers and Small Business: Becoming an Antitrust Plaintiffs’ Lawyer.
Prior to law school, Mr. Freed worked in the U.S. House of Representatives and at two leading anti-monopoly think tanks, the American Economic Liberties Project (AELP) and the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR).
From 2014 to 2018, Mr. Freed served as an Aide to former Congressman Keith Ellison, where he played a key role in developing antitrust legislation and oversight initiatives, helping lay the groundwork for major federal antitrust investigations and monopolization lawsuits against companies including Alphabet, Meta, and Amazon. At AELP and ILSR, he advised state attorneys general, members of Congress, and other policymakers on a range of antitrust and anti-monopoly issues.
He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and two sons.
