About

Joseph Van Wye is the Senior Advisor for Public Policy at CGL, where he helps clients navigate the complex intersection of law, regulation, and public affairs. With extensive experience in legislative strategy, coalition advocacy, and federal oversight, Joe brings a practical, results-driven approach to advancing policies that promote fairness, accountability, and competition across diverse markets.

Joe strengthens CGL’s capacity to provide strategic counsel on issues consumer protection and competition issues across the economy, including agriculture, technology, healthcare, and media markets.

Before joining CGL, Joe served as Senior Legislative Strategist at P Street, a leading progressive advocacy organization, where he developed and executed legislative campaigns on key issues related to consumer protection, antitrust, labor, and regulatory reform. He also served as Policy and Outreach Director for Farm Action Fund and worked under then-Chairman Jerry Nadler on the U.S. House Judiciary Committee and then-Chairman David N. Cicilline on the House Antitrust Subcommittee. In these roles, he contributed to matters involving antitrust, oversight, commercial law, and federal rulemaking.

As a member of CGL’s Public Policy team, Joe deepens the firm’s expertise in antitrust, competition policy, legislative affairs, and high-stakes regulatory matters. His addition enhances CGL’s ability to integrate policy strategy with litigation and advocacy, offering clients a comprehensive, one-stop solution for complex challenges at the intersection of law and public affairs.
