About
Claire Esmonde joined Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca’s Washington, D.C. office in 2024. Claire’s practice spans a broad spectrum of antitrust, consumer protection, and product liability class actions and complex litigation matters. She also advocates for a variety of clients in government
relations matters.
Prior to joining CGL, Claire served as a law clerk to Judges Lawrence J. Vilardo and John L. Sinatra at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, specializing in Social Security disability cases. She then practiced with a small matrimonial and family law firm in Buffalo, New York before sitting for the New York State bar. Claire was admitted to practice law in New York State and the District of Columbia in 2024.
Claire attended the University at Buffalo School of Law during the heart of the global COVID-19 pandemic. During law school she served as Submissions Editor for the Buffalo Environmental Law Journal, Co-President of the Buffalo Public Interest Law Group, Vice President of the Family and Children’s Law Society, and actively participated in OutLaw, a student organization focused on legal issues surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity. She represented victims of intimate partner violence in Erie County Family Court as a student attorney with the Family Violence and Women’s Rights clinic. Claire also served as a teaching assistant for Mediation Theory and Practice and participated in the Buffalo Niagara Trial Competition. Claire is a proud native of Buffalo, New York.
