CUNEO GILBERT & LADUCA PARTNER PAMELA GILBERT NAMED AFFILIATE OF AAI’S NEW APPELLATE PROJECT
Project seeks to ensure fair and effective development of antitrust law through stronger pro-enforcement appellate advocacy.
WASHINGTON, DC — Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca, LLP is proud to announce that Partner Pamela Gilbert, who serves as Chair of the Board of the American Antitrust Institute (AAI) has been named an Affiliate of AAI’s newly launched Appellate Project, an initiative designed to strengthen pro-enforcement antitrust appellate advocacy nationwide.
The AAI Appellate Project was created to address a growing imbalance in appellate antitrust litigation. While large defense firms often have in-house appellate teams deeply integrated with their trial practices, firms representing consumers, small businesses, and other pro-enforcement plaintiffs frequently lack comparable resources. This disparity can shape the development of antitrust doctrine and influence outcomes with broad, lasting effects on consumers and markets.
“I’m honored to be part of this groundbreaking initiative,” said Pamela Gilbert. “The AAI Appellate Project recognizes how vital appellate advocacy is to the fair and effective enforcement of antitrust laws. By connecting practitioners who are committed to promoting competition and consumer protection, the project will help ensure that the law develops in ways that truly serve the public interest.”
Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca praises AAI for launching this initiative, as the project will bring together a network of experienced appellate practitioners, academics, and public interest advocates committed to ensuring robust enforcement of the antitrust laws. Affiliates provide volunteer support to pro-enforcement litigants through moot courts, best practice exchanges, and expert guidance, helping to level the playing field in critical appellate proceedings. The project also provides continuing legal education for attorneys focused on appellate and trial-level issues in antitrust law.
