CUNEO GILBERT & LADUCA APPOINTED AS INTERIM CO-LEAD COUNSEL IN FIRE TRUCK PRICE-FIXING LITIGATION
Firm to lead lawsuit alleging major manufacturers conspired to inflate fire apparatus prices and restrict supply
GREEN BAY, WI – A federal court has appointed Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca, LLP as Interim Co-Lead Class Counsel in a consolidated antitrust lawsuit alleging that leading fire apparatus manufacturers conspired to fix prices and limit supply, driving up the cost of essential firefighting equipment nationwide.
The firm will represent a proposed class of direct purchasers, including cities and fire departments that bought fire trucks during a period when prices reportedly doubled and wait times stretched into multiple years.
The appointment in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin positions the firm, along with its co-counsel, to lead the litigation on behalf of municipalities and fire departments that purchased fire trucks directly from manufacturers. According to the complaint, fire truck prices have doubled over the past ten years, far outpacing inflation. Municipalities have been forced to hold onto older, less reliable equipment, redirect funds from other public services, and endure long delays in delivery.
“We are honored to be selected to help lead this important case,” said Michael Flannery, partner at Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca. “Communities depend on reliable emergency equipment. When the market is manipulated, public safety suffers. Taxpayers should not be left paying inflated prices for essential public equipment. This case is about fairness and protecting the communities that fund and rely on these vehicles.”
As Interim Co-Lead Counsel, Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca will coordinate pretrial strategy, manage discovery, and, if necessary, try the case on behalf of the proposed class. Plaintiffs are seeking treble damages and court-ordered measures to prevent further anticompetitive conduct.
The case is proceeding in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin under Case No. 1:25-cv-01543.
