Examples of Investigations into Data Breach Cases  

Aflac Data Breach 

In July 2025, Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca filed a class action lawsuit against insurance giant Aflac following a breach that exposed highly sensitive personal information—including Social Security numbers, health data, and other personally identifiable information of individuals. The case seeks damages and injunctive relief to protect affected individuals and prevent future breaches.

Allianz Data Breach

In August 2025, Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca, LLP, along with co-counsel Levi & Korsinsky, LLP, filed a nationwide class action lawsuit against Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America after the company disclosed that hackers had accessed the personal information of the majority of its 1.4 million customers. The lawsuit alleges that Allianz failed to implement adequate security measures to protect customer data—including names and other personally identifiable information—leaving victims exposed to identity theft, fraud, and emotional harm. The breach occurred via a third-party, cloud-based CRM platform and was not publicly disclosed until more than a week after Allianz allegedly detected it.
