The case calls for payments of $300 million over five years. The U.S. District Court of New Jersey preliminarily approved the original Settlement on October 9, 2003 and preliminarily approved the Amended Settlement on June 4, 2004.
  • Established the right of indirect purchasers to sue for damages in under the Arizona antitrust act, in a major decision of the Supreme Court of Arizona, sitting en banc. (Gray et al v. Philip Morris USA Inc., et al.)
  • Helped defeat congressional legislation that would weaken consumer remedies under class action laws.
