R. BRENT WALTON brings to the firm years of experience successfully representing plaintiffs in civil and international human rights, constitutional, consumer protection, employment, environmental and securities class actions before federal and state courts while an attorney at Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro in Seattle, Washington.

Mr. Walton brings to his advocacy the benefit of a diversity of experience, having served as Special Counsel to Indian Tribes; working for the Legal Resources Centre in South Africa where he provided legal advice to township residents and consultation to the African National Congress; and assisting in multi-government relations while with Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization.

Mr. Walton has been widely recognized for his achievements as a litigator. In 2006, for instance, the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice selecting him as a finalist for its Trial Lawyer of the Year award, and in 2002, 2003, and 2004 he was named a "Super Lawyer" by Washington Law & Politics (2002-2004).

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Walton is a former adjunct professor, and he has lectured widely and published extensively on class action litigation, environmental law, and international law. His publications include articles in the Tulane Law Review, the New York University Environmental Law Journal, Trial News, and the Daily Journal of Commerce. He serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Washington Environmental Law Clinic.

Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Walton worked as a journalist and a set designer for music videos, and he also helped found the American Media Counsel on Child Abuse.
