Examples of Current CasesKwikset LocksLead Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca, L.L.P. Attorneys: This private attorney general action alleges that the Kwikset Corporation and its parent company Black & Decker improperly labeled many of their locksets as "Made in the USA" or "All-American Made," despite the fact that parts were actually made wholly or partially outside the United States. (In fact, Kwikset had closed down its operation in Anaheim, California, and opened a large manufacturing plant in Mexico – all the while continuing to label its products “Made in the U.S.A.”) The case was filed in the Superior Court of California in Orange County. The court held that the defendants had illegally labeled many of their locksets and ordered the defendants to notify retailers and offer them replacements for returned locksets. The case is now on appeal. Kwikset Trial Statement of Decision .pdf (1MB) |
